Wealthtech Orion Advisor Solutions will give clients access to alternative investments through a partnership with CAIS Solutions.

“We’re excited to integrate with CAIS to provide access to alternative investment strategies from leading asset managers,” Orion CEO Natalie Wolfsen said in a statement. “CAIS is aligned with Orion’s commitment to supporting the independent advisor community, given their industry-leading technology, broad selection of funds, robust online educational platform, deep technology integrations and independent due diligence relationship with Mercer.”

Orion’s Wealth Advisory and OCIO clients will gain access to private equity, private debt, private real estate and hedge funds. In addition, there are plans to add access to Orion Portfolio Solutions and Orion Advisor Technology clients in the near future. 

“As advisor demand for alternatives continues to grow, we remain laser-focused on providing best-in-class technology solutions that enable a seamless alternative investing experience for the independent wealth ecosystem,” CAIS COO Brendan Cuddihy said in a statement. “This collaboration with Orion ensures that the advisors using their platform have access to the necessary tools needed to reap the potential benefits of alts and meet client demand.”

CAIS added new features to its CAIS Solutions platform last fall, allowing advisors to manage alternative investments in one spot, including those sourced through CAIS’s marketplace, but also ones purchased directly from managers or sourced on other alts platforms.

After a period of growth marked by acquisitions, Orion has focused on integrations during the past two years. That stretch also included former AssetMark CEO Wolfsen succeeding Eric Clarke.
