LPL Financial sign News>People Former LPL Exec Returns to Build Out Succession, M&A Functions Jeremy Holly, who left the broker/dealer in 2021 to join SageView Advisory Group, has returned to lead strategic business development.

LPL Financial announced Wednesday that Jeremy Holly, who was at LPL for 19 years before jumping to SageView Advisory Group in 2021, has rejoined the firm as executive vice president of strategic business development. Holly, a former senior vice president of corporate development and advisor financial solutions at LPL, will be responsible for building out the broker/dealer’s liquidity and succession and M&A solutions functions.

Jeremy_Holly_headshot.jpgHolly joined SageView Advisory Group, a Newport Beach, Calif.–based retirement-focused RIA, in 2021 as its new chief development and integration officer. In that role, he was responsible for leading SageView’s M&A efforts and building out his own deal execution, sourcing and integration teams.

 

"Jeremy Holly did leave SageView on good terms and we thank him for his work while a member of our team," said a spokesperson for SageView, in a statement. "We wish him all the best in his future endeavors. We have a dedicated team of professionals are who are building upon our recent recruitment and M&A success. Our pipeline is extremely strong, and we will have several announcements in the second half of the year featuring both wealth management and retirement wins."

At LPL, Holly will lead the firm’s liquidity and succession solution, the b/d’s newest offer inside its business solutions program, where LPL will buy an advisor’s practice and run it under the Linsco model temporarily until that advisor’s eventual successor is ready.

Holly will also be responsible for M&A solutions, LPL’s suite of services to help advisors navigate mergers and acquisitions from start to finish. He was instrumental in building out that program, which went live in February 2021.

“Jeremy is a seasoned leader who will move some of our most significant growth opportunities from startup to formation mode,” said Rich Steinmeier, LPL managing director and divisional president, business development. “Not only will he help support our current advisors as they plan the futures of their businesses, but he’ll also help build out some of our programs that continue to be differentiators and growth engines for the firm.”  

LPL also said that Marc Cohen, previously an executive vice president of strategic programs, will transition to a new role leading the firm's strategy and new ventures team and strategic accounts relationship management team, which manages LPL's large enterprises. In the new role, Cohen's experience leading strategic programs and introducing new capabilities will be applied more broadly to shape the future of the firm.
